Interesting analysis from John Horgan’s former Chief of Staff @geoffmeggs on @HotelPacificoBC:
“I think it’s possible that the “No ABC Team” will gravitate to Kareem Allam because he has the most viable campaign and he’s talking about issues people care about and he seems to do be able to do so very articulately.”
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (April 16, 2025): Former Mayor of Abbotsford Henry Braun Endorses Mike de Jong for MP for Abbotsford–South Langley

I’m sharing this because @Mike_de_Jong is very effectively repurposing his appearance on This is VANCOLOUR into campaign material.
It’s a bold move (high risk of cringe!) to pivot from an interview to talk right down the barrel of the camera, but Mike pulled it off 👏
Something is in the air. The number of high profile independent candidates in BC is becoming more common. This now is the most high profile…. This will be a race to watch and Mike de Jong’s presence will be impossible to ignore.

I listened to Pierre's speech and it's quite the contrast from Carney's. Carney spoke about using an emergency response to fast track projects. Pierre spoke about speeding up the permitting/approval process and eliminating project stalling bills like C-69.
Pierre proposes a funding mechanism that will give Indigenous communities the autonomy to address urgent needs in their community like clean water. Giving that decision making back to our leaders is something that I can stand behind.
When Liberals start shedding their progressive skins in favour of long standing Conservative policy positions, you know they have no core beliefs beyond hanging on to power. You also know you can’t believe a word they say.
Explain the logic of roiling markets, antagonizing allies and turning the Canadian and Mexican public against the U.S. in exchange for border security commitments that were already on the table?
Americans may not fully realize the depth of Canada’s response to their betrayal. Whether the tariff is enforced or not, this will not be forgotten. Canada will seek new, dependable trading partners. This is a wake-up call: the economy must be diversified.
We in Europe remember that Canadians died to liberate our continent.
In the face of Trump's madness, EU stands with Canada now!
There is no reason why EU membership should be off the table. 🇪🇺🇨🇦
And I will add to the Ambassador‘s excellent comment that when I was supreme commander of NATO I watched Canadians fight and die bravely under my command in Afghanistan just 10 years ago. They weren’t attacked. We were.
