The new DSHS regulation includes a new "total THC" rule, which now counts THCA in the Delta-9 calculation. THCA converts to Delta-9 when heated or smoked, which is what is being sold around the state. What’s this mean for the shops?

Texas is banning the sale and manufacture of smokable cannabis effective March 31. The rules have now been adopted by DSHS.

The annual fee for hemp stores will go from $150 to $5,000.

The annual fee for hemp manufacturers will go from $250 to $10,000.
