Expensive German climate policy:
Germany faces “structural decline” and is in “free fall”, with price increases “across the economy”
Real German electricity price 222% of price in 2000 (households+industry)

On 30 July, UK Foreign Secretary said Europe’s wildfires "remind us that the climate crisis is happening now"
NASA’s satellite record, 1 January to that day: Europe’s burned area was 3rd lowest
The fires were real. They were not evidence that Europe was burning more than ever
In recent years, Idaho has achieved one of the most dramatic state-level reductions in regulation ever.
Instead of assuming old regulations should remain on the books, it made agencies justify the ones they wanted to keep. Since 2019, the state has eliminated roughly half of its regulatory code.

@LVTYIMBY Something to keep in mind is that a LVT, set at a price which is too high, will result in a land abandoned by the citizen to the city. Hence, no dollar gained for the city and no land used for the people → artificial scarcity for activity like housing. We're far from it though.
Greece is 7% foreign.
52% of its prisoners are foreign.
Switzerland 27% vs 72%
Austria 20% vs 53%
Germany 15% vs 47%
Italy 9% vs 32%
Finland 7% vs 23%
Same story across the West.
Western Europe is selecting for importing a younger, more male cohort from higher crime source countries.
The biggest foreign inmate block is people smuggling and narcotics.
If the population mix did not change the crime mix, the bars would look like Ireland’s. They don’t.
I don’t have push-ups, but I do have chest press. 56% of men are stronger at chest press than the strongest 1% of women. In other words, line up 100 women and 100 men of the same age, and about 56 of the men will be stronger than the strongest woman.
Sophie Cunningham is right.
Alarmists: “World on fire!”
Reality: By Sep 23, global burned area likely never lower than 2026
Disasters in France, Spain & Canada are tragic—but climate is global. Cherry-picking isn’t science
Climate policy does near-nothing for fires
We need better fire policy (prescribed burns, let some burn) and better climate info

Official, reef-wide stat widely published as the Great Barrier Reef got worse
But when it got better, official stat stopped
Here is the optimal average (least-square) based on their own estimates from 1986-2020

Have you noticed: No climate hurricane panic in the media?
Maybe because no hurricanes in the North Atlantic
Thanks to El Niño (which the media plays up all the time)
Globally, more hurricanes (as expected), but likely lower damages

2026 global fire lowest in satellite era
NASA fire satellites scan Earth 24/7—just released new July data yesterday
Burned area Jan-July really is markedly lower compared to all other years Jan-July (as GWIS suggested in rapid estimates)
21% decline
