@KatiePMcGrady Until the day my dad died, he called me “buddy”. Even through his dementia when someone referred to me by name, he didn’t know me, but when they said, “That was your buddy”, he knew exactly who they were talking about. It’s a term of endearment that crossed the dementia barrier.
@KatiePMcGrady This is awesome! I think I’m going to recommend it to parents (I work at an elementary school) when they say their kid won’t tell them anything about their day.
Also, don’t listen to the social media trolls. You are a light in this dark place. Keep on being you!
Today I'm going to begin a daily post on using academic vocabulary during the school day. The first post is how to use academic vocabulary during hallway transitions. For primary grades concentrate on using one academic word. Intermediate grades use more.
🧘 Self-care involves any action during the day that helps maintain a feeling of calm, balance, and wellness.

Maybe working from home today isn’t all that bad! Thankful I get to enjoy this view. I hope my students are able to get out and enjoy the wonder of the first snowflakes!
