@XJuggernauut @stone_2x The big difference is a runner already HAS possession of the ball,while a receiver (in this case) has to establish that possession to be ruled a catch.
Rodgers has just one hand on the ball,the other is on defender's hand and ball is moving al over his helmet. No clear possession

@UberSmitty @ProFootballTalk you are wrongly considering Rodgers a ball carrier, he is a receiver and: he caught the ball midaire, then took L hand off and then put back L hand but over defenders' hand. He didn't have clear, nor long enough control. Didn't make a "Football move" to be considered a catch

I could agree if, for example, ball didn't move on Aaron's helmet all the way till he was down, as Edelman's reception back in the day.

You decided to overlook that he then took his L hand off the ball, which is moving all over his helmet while going down btw. All that while Ravens D had both hands on the ball all the way to the ground. There is no CLEAR and OBVIOUS evidence

@tjmcaulay Interesting take. So, in the same game, can you explain to us when does Aaron Rodgers established clear possession of the ball to be ruled a reception, therefore, down by contact and overturn the INT call on the field? It's beyond me.

And still, as a 50/50 play with the call on the field being an INT, NY overturned it.
We could agree with the Likely call, but Rodgers' call was even more awful
