Being modeling in Blender for over 6 years and never knew about Vertex Crease in subdiv mode... It does help a lot to tackle some difficult shapes, and it doesn't have a hotkey assigned by default.
In DOOM: The Dark Ages, I polished the animation for the Grenade Launcher Intro and made the ammo and gun feel heavy and weighty when the ammo falls into place. The idea was to make the players feel like it is a hefty and powerful weapon.

The thing everyone misses about why this game looks so good is that the Specular Term ISN'T a reflection of the environment, but a bullshit 2-highlights-per-face blurry cubemap.
It's what gives everything a unified ethereal feel.
It's beautiful because it ISN'T "realistic".
