I matched into Family Medicine at UCSF-Natividad in Salinas, CA! I'm honored and excited to be in a place where my language skills and immigrant background can authentically serve the local population.
@FullCodeApp @FullCodeApp I matched into FM at UCSF-Natividad! It's a single residency, full spectrum program where the residents do everything! So Full Code will be really helpful in preparing for intern year!

If I, a #MedPeds trained Black woman residency PD was enduring something like this? I’d want other #MedPeds trained Black women residency program directors to stand with me in solidarity.
And so I do.
This makes me so sad.

Te invito a participar en este diálogo importante: ¿por qué muere una lengua? Una idea importante que mencionaron los invitados: "las lenguas no se mueren, se matan"

Recently, I've been learning Ch'ol, a Mayan language with 200,000+ speakers in southern Mexico. Learning Ch'ol reminds me of the importance of preserving and honoring our heritage. ¡Gracias a Miriam por compartir su lengua y cultura con nosotros! https://t.co/nrHzaypi6t
@jenny8lee I'm so sad to hear this. I was in his photo for the 150th anniversary of the TC railroad. Thanks for being such an inspiration for the AAPI community.
Corky Lee, the unofficial photo laureate of the Asian-American community, has died of COVID. The photo that epitomizes his work was this recreation of the famed Golden Spike Transcontinental Railroad with descendants of railroad workers. https://t.co/oWa3oWPLsS
Thanks @vchanli for leading a superb anti-racism discussion from the Asian American perspective at #APAMSANC2021

Advocacy is powerful! UCSF responded to our petition to eliminate eGFR at all UCSF labs: SFGH will continue to uphold our successful elimination of race from eGFR reporting that we won last year, and now the other UCSF labs and the VA will follow suit.🔥
Excited to moderate/learn from @MonicaHahnMD & @MeeshLough's session on "Practicing Anti-Racism, Recognizing Anti-Blackness in AAPI Communities" at @APAMSA's National Conference!

As much as I will agonize about my rank list in the upcoming weeks, I find peace in the fact that this is not about me.
We are still in the throes of the biggest public health threat in recent memory. It is an honor and privilege to contribute my part.
Today was my final interview for FM residency programs! It has been an incredible journey meeting future colleagues who also view medicine as a tool to ameliorate disparities and advance social justice.
I went to 4 years of college, 5 years of med school, 4 years of Gyn/Ob residency, and 3 years of FPMRS fellowship. At various times I use them all.
But, the education that informs me daily as a surgeon scientist is my bachelor of science Women’s Studies degree from @penn_state.
