PolymarketGuide has reached nearly 100,000 page views from more than 40,000 unique visitors.
I started it as a free public resource to make sense of a complex, largely undocumented resolution system. Today, it's become a widely cited and shared reference for understanding Polymarket resolution.
Thank you to everyone who read, shared, cited, and contributed along the way.
We usually don't share timelines, but we want to be as transparent as possible about the new Rust CLOB build-out for Polymarket DeFi. The current CLOB is the system behind most of the issues we see today, so we've got all hands on deck building the new one.
- Oct - full order lifecycle working end to end in staging: trading + settlement flow + onchain + indexer + engine notification flow
- Nov - mirroring full production traffic to the new exchange cluster and diffing outputs against the current system. MM test access opens in Nov; we'll confirm the exact date by the end of Oct.
- Nov - migration cutover plan locked, with 2x full rehearsals before we flip anything
If all goes well, we then release it.
The migration is designed to require minimal to no work on any MM/developer's side. Request and response interfaces should stay as they are: we may add extra useful fields, one field may be deprecated, and anything we deprecate will have a notice period before go-live.
Introducing Polymarket Data, a public source for U.S. & International exchange data.
Polymarket U.S. hit 1b+ total volume (contracts) for the weekend, consecutive daily ATHs:
- Saturday: 510m+
- Sunday: 525m+
We're just getting started.
We know the website has been getting slow - as market creation exploded, the UI was flooding Gamma with API calls (it had no market paging 🤯). We've shipped a new internal gateway API built in Rust and rebuilt the pages from scratch on top of it, now serving combos (8x faster) and sports (4x faster). Next up, we're working on the event, esports, categories, and home pages to make them load instantly, too. The website will keep getting faster every week. You all deserve a website that feels instant.
Left is before (no cache), and right is after (now live)
Calling all crypto twitter.
I'm proud to announce that Jacob Horne @js_horne has joined Polymarket. He will be working closely with me on product, in particular making Polymarket DeFi great again.
Jacob is amongst the best product and innovation minds in crypto. Before this, he was CEO of Zora. He built multiple beautiful products (I was one of the first users of the first version in 2020). Now he's got the PMF and distribution of Polymarket. I'm so excited to work with him.
We'll be hosting a Polymarket DeFi town hall soon to hear from our longtime users and lay out the plan to make the Polymarket DeFi product the best it’s ever been. In the meantime, DM your feedback to @js_horne or me and we'll action it.
To the DeFi community, we know the performance of the onchain product has waned as we've scaled, and it hurts us to hear the frustration of the people who love Polymarket and have supported us for so long thinking we’ve pivoted all focus to US, but just know we're working behind the scenes to unify the products and make Polymarket better than ever, across all surface areas.
@CryptoHoldEver@PolyReward@Polymarket@Frenchiee@senzer Tough one. Easy for a rule to catch you off guard.

Introducing the Prediction Markets Hall of Fame!
The inaugural 2026 class:
@robinhanson
Robert Forsythe, Forrest Nelson & George Neumann
@shayne_coplan@mansourtarek_@luanalopeslara
And we’re not done: nominations are open!!! Who else belongs in the Hall of Fame?
An new clarification was added to Weather markets at @Polymarket. And all books got cleared due to that. Now we have an rule that protect everyone in case an situation with no data happens.
This is very rare to happen on these days, but is cool to have @Polymarket giving attention and improving rules to make it even clearer on our markets!
Honest post: the Polymarket DeFi CLOB is full of tech debt. It grew fast, got hacked together, and most of the team inherited it that way. Since joining and building out the team, we have scaled it 10x and made it 3x faster, but it’s not enough; the core foundations of how it’s been built are wrong in almost every way. You try to fix one thing, and another thing goes wrong; the conclusion now is that the codebase can’t be saved long-term.
The exchange is the heart of Polymarket; everything runs through it. If we want to be the best exchange in the world, it must be fast, stable, and scalable. We can’t keep patching the old one, where these core foundations are generally missing throughout, so we’re rewriting it from scratch in Rust.
Early numbers: 10-20x faster on p99 than today, 200,000 orders per second (15x what we have now, with room to reach 400,000+), and stability under load. This will put us faster than most exchanges, including CEXs.
Building it in Rust gives us memory safety with no garbage collector. No GC means no random pauses and no random latency spikes; the tail latency in the benchmarks is the tail latency you get in production, alongside a strict compiler that enforces correctness up front. Data races and memory corruption (the bugs that take exchanges down) can’t exist in the first place.
Polymarket has to take it seriously that we are an exchange; this is people’s money, not a joke. To succeed, we have to fix this; otherwise, we will fail. It’s as simple as that. I joined to build the best software in the world, not to maintain some of the worst, and I will do everything I can to make Polymarket a serious exchange.
We are aiming to have the exchange ready sometime in Q4 (mid to end). I'll communicate progress as we go so you all know the status. Breaking changes will be minimal for all integrators and will be communicated in advance. We will maintain the existing CLOB and keep trying to improve it as we build this side by side. We can’t wait to throw away the existing CLOB; we dislike it as much as you all do.
Make Polymarket fast, finally.
A new category of polymarkets: which exchanges will list a token within 30 days after TGE
Markets like this already exist for Umia, Cambria, Extended and Linera. I’m sure we’ll see more projects in the near future
I see this as a great opportunity to find how token prices react to listings on specific exchanges. Binance used to be the obvious example, where a listing could instantly pump a token
It will create new ways to hedge positions
The main thing is making sure project teams and exchange employees can’t take advantage of this information
@Polymarket is expanding weather past daily highs and there's a new "Where will it rain?" market, 15 US cities, resolving off NWS CLI reports.
Good to see. Just needs liquidity before it's really tradeable. Go check it out!

Session keys are now in beta on the trading APIs.
A session key can trade on your deposit wallet behalf but can never withdraw - making third-party integrations dramatically better, and unlocking ability to build features that weren’t possible before.
A few builders are testing it now. Opening to every builder soon, with session key support coming to the Polymarket UI later.

Over 2 million oracle requests and counting.
UMA’s Optimistic Oracle passed its 2 millionth request on August 17.
The second million took just 69 days.
Nice.

Some changes coming to the resolution source for weather markets on @Polymarket.
Starting Aug 23rd, all temperature markets will resolve from https://t.co/eilA5bVZ2U (NWS) instead of Weather Underground. Resolution is still based on METARs and SPECIs.
This should eliminate the discrepancies that caused issues on a handful of markets from Wunderground.
