Fundamental field: Science
Sub Field: Neuroscience.

Of course you an always specify further and combine.

Animal neurology, for example.

This way you're adding depth and breadth simultaneously.

For polymaths to become seen as skillful

They must -specialize- in each field they undertake.

Don't play in 101 genres of music.

Combine 2-5.

Don't work in 101 art styles.

Combine 10 or so influences into your 1-3 styles.

Study 20 fields.

Combine 3 of them exquisitely.

The alternative is to specialize in one domain for 5-10. years.

Not everyone is neurologically wired for this, however.

but depth is critical too.

For example: Pick a fundamental field and sub field in this specialization.

Fundamental: Art
Sub-Field: Sci-fi Concept art.

Paintings, books, businesses…none of those things hold us on our deathbed— so it’s important to keep them in perspective!

For me, a huge stumbling block has been purpose.

If I don’t have a massive “why” my attention span for a piece/project is minimal.

Now that my old business is dead, I’m doodling while looking for the next “what” and “why.”

@JyunTheThird Great point. I’m weighing many factors, such as providing for my family instead of throwing myself wholly into another risky business pursuit.

At this point, I’m submitting my novel to literary agents and looking for product/market/founder fit 🔥

There are always those willing to break their backs.

To sweat, and bleed, and cry.

Sometimes, albeit, for an apt outcome.

But then there are those who will save their backs.

They know enough to move aside for systems and science do the bulk of the work.
