"The collaboration of physicians from around the world shows that even in times marked by conflict humanity can unite in the service of health and the wellbeing of patients. We hope this spirit of cooperation contributes to greater understanding and peace" https://t.co/0Tm5xEkFgH
Durante la tercera reunión sobre la Declaración de #Taipei, el presidente de la #AcademiaPontificia para la #Vida expresó, hoy, su esperanza de que ni la lógica comercial ni la política erosionen la confianza de los pacientes en el sistema de salud.

Msgr. #Pegoraro (#PAV): "Following Leo XIV’s approach, the deepest point of convergence between the Taipei Declaration and the reflection of the Academy I preside is the recognition that the dignity of the human person is inviolable, even in the face of technological progress".
Such questions are a clear manifestation of humanity’s search for truth, and give rise to a desire for something more, a thirst for God and lasting meaning. They also bear witness to the essential aspects of our humanity: the God-given gifts of reason and freedom by which we may come to know the truth and adhere to what is good.
It is precisely when faced with adverse circumstances that the human person is called to reconsider the fundamental questions that have gently prodded the heart of countless generations to more serious reflection: “Where are we going? Toward what goal do we wish to orient ourselves? What direction should we choose as a people and as a human community?”
We live in an era marked by wars and growing polarization, as well as cultural and social divisions. Yet, in the midst of fragility, a new hope arises. Even as division seems to grow, a common denominator that indisputably unites us all appears: our shared humanity.

Connecting young people to digital networks serves no purpose if they remain disconnected from themselves, others, and their own interiority. We must help young people rediscover silence, reflection, the ability to ask questions, the depth of relationships, and openness to transcendence. To listen to the soul, we must lend an ear, because the soul's voice is not a shout, but a whisper.
However, when we discover that our life has value, that we are loved, awaited, and called to carry out a task in the world, then hope is born. This spiritual force sustains life, even in the most difficult moments.
Deep inner suffering inevitably arises when the human person is reduced to performance, consumption, or a statistical datum. Many young people today live under the yoke of expectations to perform, immersed in an exasperated competitiveness that generates anxiety, fear of not measuring up, and disorientation.

#AI can be a valuable tool and, at the same time, it calls for a measured and vigilant approach. The speed and simplicity with which practical assistance can be accessed undoubtedly makes life easier. Yet they can also encourage excessive reliance and the search for ready-made answers, and weaken personal creativity and judgment. #MagnificaHumanitas
The apparent objectivity of the responses these systems provide can lead us to overlook the fact that they reflect the cultural assumptions of those who designed and trained them.
The artificial imitation of positive human communication — words of advice, empathy, friendship and even love — can be engaging. However, it can be misleading, creating the illusion of a relationship with a real personal subject. In contexts where real relationships and emotional bonds are lacking, the danger is that a person may lose the desire to form genuine human connections.
Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
I follow with concern the war in #Ukraine, which is experiencing a sharp intensification in these days. I wish to express my closeness to all those suffering due to recent attacks carried out even against civilians. War does not solve problems but worsens them. It does not create security but multiplies suffering and hatred. Where missiles and drones fall, hopes also fall; homes and places of prayer are destroyed, and innocent lives are broken. I entrust all peoples wounded by war to the protection of the Virgin Mary, Queen of #Peace.
“Edificare insieme, trasformando la diversità in una risorsa e facendo dell’ascolto e del dialogo il terreno comune su cui far crescere giustizia e fraternità”. E’ la via di Neemia di #PapaLeone in #MagnificaHumanitas per custodire la dignità umana al tempo dell’ #intelligenzaartificiale .

In the era of #ArtificialIntelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. We must lovingly safeguard the grandeur of humanity bestowed upon us and revealed in its fullness in Christ, the splendor of which no machine can ever replace. #MagnificaHumanitas

Yet, a bright possibility emerges: that of building together, of transforming diversity into a resource and of making listening and dialogue the common ground upon which to cultivate justice and fraternity.
