Farmers with sheep managing through drought times.

Just saying. π€·π»ββοΈ
Letβs retweet the positives and not get bogged down in the media portrayal of the drought.
Nice work Guys. ππ
Lambs weaned and ewes off paddocks in drought confinement lots . 350 per pen takes 3mins to feed them all with grain plus a straw bale every 4 days or so 1kg barley every seccond day ! Much easier than chasing them over the farm to feed not to mention the benefit to groundcover
@John_R_Bruce@lucybarbour Ha Ha smart ass.
However Iβm sure you will back me on this one, as will all my other mates who use drought feeding containment yards.
Nothing more infuriating than looking after your topsoil only to have your house full of dust from your neighbors poor practices.

Feeding in a dust bowl is often unnecessary given the Government funded drought lots?
Many good operators using them. π
Some understandably canβt for different reasons.

FYI
Containment feeding or Drought lots are essential and have been around for ten years at least.
Hungry stock will burn more energy walking looking for feed thatβs not in the paddock theyβre roaming rather than eat, sleep, drink in a shady pen.
Less dust too.

@grow_dem_melons@dburner996 Let me know the secret.
We have been growing Lupins for stock feed and I would love to get some water to grow them.
Just need a pipeline or a hose.
@percytonfarmer Have you got a full width set of retractable fingers in the table auger?
Ours had blanking plates on widest holes originally now we have added fingers.
