I've had the privilege and pleasure of watching Abid Ali play in the south zone matches a long time ago. What a joy he was and how versatile and friendly! I remember this very well: I was about 8 or 9 years old and was sitting just outside the boundary line with a ten-rupee ticket. When he was fielding, we were shouting his name, and he stepped out of the boundary and touched all our hands and went. I can't forget that. He was one of the most versatile cricketers of the time and though his pace was not as fast as it is today, he still managed to bother some of the greatest batsmen of that time. My condolences and blessings to the family and all those who loved his game. -Sg #SyedAbidAli
Painful to see the loss of life and the scale of devastation wrought by the wildfires in LA County. Though this is a very difficult time for the community, we know this is not a community that is easily beaten. Our greatest challenges also offer us the greatest opportunities to build back stronger. We stand in solidarity with you as you begin the process of recovering & rebuilding yourselves. Much Love and Blessings. -Sg
Though there may be a sexual stimulus to rape, it is not about sexuality alone. It is about the power to possess. One fundamental mistake societies have made is somewhere in the minds of the male youth in the world, we have put the idea that a female is an object you can possess. The solution is in transformation of the individual human being. We must be willing to invest time and life in making this happen. -Sg
People who fail in life always have explanations. Never find an explanation for your failure. People who are successful have no explanations. They know it takes endless striving. There is simply no other way. #SadhguruWisdom

#TarangShakti—an effort to move from conflict to collaboration. Wonderful to have these top fliers from various countries at #IshaYogaCenter, and we hope to bring the yoga and meditative processes to service personnel all around the world to ensure that forces don’t clash but collaborate. -Sg
Immediate halt to despicable atrocities in #Bangladesh is paramount, but documenting these atrocities in as much detail as possible is equally important. The national borders that were drawn in recent times are not absolute. The cultural ties and the civilizational connect is far more important. Bharat should not be bound just by border logic but by broader realities of a civilization that is older than 75 years. -Sg
In Bharat’s effort to become a developed Nation or an economic power, the most important thing is to unleash the potential of our demography which is youthful. This cannot be done without liberating the system of education from government control & allowing people to create various curriculums of their own. A few people may do silly things but many will do brilliant things. What should be taught in educational institutions should not be decided by the government. If the students and the parents are happy and they become capable of participating in the economic systems, the government should leave it alone. The government institutions can teach what they want but the private institutions should be agile to teach what is needed for the Nation at this moment. -Sg
Wonderful to see women and children of Rajasthan coming out in such a large number for the wellbeing of the planet on this World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. Rajasthan has done pioneering work in reversing desertification and drought in the state and continues to set a shining example for the rest of the nation. Congratulations and Blessings. -Sg #SaveSoil
We should have reclaimed the name ‘Bharat’ when the British left our shores. A name will not do everything but it is important the country is named in a way that reverberates in everyone’s heart. Even though the Nation means everything to us, the word ‘India’ has no meaning. If we are unable or unwilling to change the name of the Nation officially, it is time we at least bring ‘Bharat’ into our daily parlance. Younger generations must know that Bharat existed long before India was born. Congratulations @ncert. -Sg
