@SFFoghorn A quick calculation: discount an approx tuition of $50K by 40% = $30K in student revenue. Each faculty costs an average of 4 to 5 times this (including benefits). But the faculty population is much smaller than one-fifth of the student body!

@SFFoghorn I want to set the record straight: tuition has gone up much faster than faculty salaries. Additionally, the University's planned elimination of our retirement severance package essentially undoes all of the FT faculty salary gains. So the faculty salary increases are misleading.
