@SimeonBrownMP Simeon let's stop talking about NZ Labour.
Almost everybody already knows they messed up under Jacinda Heil Covid Ardern and Mengele Go See A Doctor Schitkins.
Can we move on. Thinking about them is depressing me.
@GraemeG70026987@kaiviti_cam As for "give back to new talent" that's exactly what Lynda just did.
She ... unselfishly ... leveraged her influence to publically plead with the minister, that others be funded.
@GraemeG70026987@kaiviti_cam Their parents probably helped them. They had a lot of friends. They weren't misers.
I'd hazard a guess NZ On Air funds, for their shows, paid a team of others such as camera crew and show promoters.
NZ On Air used to give out free tickets to get people in the audience for tv.
@GraemeG70026987@kaiviti_cam Wonder how much they even got from NZ on Air.
Take a careful read of Cam's "rave".
There is nothing to suggest any of the funds that went to NZ on Air for those programmes, ever reached TT pockets. The funding went to a broadcaster, it seems, not necessarily to the performers.
@KiwiAly@kaiviti_cam Yes Cam hasn't handled it particularly well.
There was a recent death.
If he'd been thinking more clearly he might have understood that, fundamentally, Lynda was criticising unfairness in the grants funding system too. She knows others never received arts grants, who struggle.
@kaiviti_cam Also she is deep in grief.
Her twin just died.
She wasn't asking for more money for the TT. She was thinking about what Jools and her were able to do, with the support of others, and about all the struggling creatives out there who never necessarily are funded but could be too.
@kaiviti_cam She acknowledged others who she now understands receive nothing or much lower amounts than the TT ... normally because many creatives are too modest and or unassuming to lodge applications for high sums from Creative NZ.
Time for universal payments to all at same rate, perhaps?
Today I read in the news that our government is putting solar in 500 schools ($30m).
And giving school children musical instruments ($5.6m).
These are excellent initiatives. I cannot complain about those.
Thanks for delivering for children.
@NZNationalParty@EricaStanfordMP
@4evaTrump2028@kaiviti_cam The subs are nuclear powered. Aus discussed a contract to purchase three secondhand ones, from US military forces.
SUBS DO LEAK. The US does sell junk.
Leaking radioactive isotopes in effluent from nuclear powered submarines, can affect waters that reach fisheries and shores.
@herbofchch@Suitandtie9999 Hipkins affair with Toni, divorce of Jade ... the "Northland women" ... all that would confuse poor Hel's.
She'd not understand. That's not how politics was, when she was PM.
@herbofchch@Suitandtie9999 Omg Herb. In fairness to "Helen the terrorist lover" there is no way she ever would have guessed Hipkins would try to put anyone linked to her dinner dates, on a list of threats with interpol.
She thought they were nice ladies who supported the party.
@kaiviti_cam Note the phrasing.
He said "it MIGHT be an INTERESTING conversation", not that it "should" be had (again) ... (or that we haven't already talked quite a lot before about that).
@kaiviti_cam Cam, the inference was not so much that we "should".
Another interpretation is that he implied Australia just got peer pressured by the USA to purchase three second hand radioactive leaking subs off the Pentagon. And that as a close ally and friend of Aus, we urge caution there.
@chrislynchmedia In fact candidates in those wards are probably more "elected" than ACT party "list" MP's.
Certainly every bit as elected as rural ward representatives.
@chrislynchmedia Wait until Seymour finds out Māori ward seats on councils are elected ...
ACT party supporters know this, right?
