A year into the SIR, we still don't know who took the decision to do this exercise and why. An RTI response from the ECI told us that this decision was not taken in the ECI. Which begs the question: Where was it taken? Was it taken in BJP HQ? Or somewhere else? Justice Jamdar of the Bombay High Court questions an “externment” order against a citizen raising slogans like “BJP Govt Murdabad” and “Amit Shah Murdabad”.
