If you think because you’ve successfully migrated out of Nigeria as a Nurse, therefore the current NMCN verification issues doesn’t concern you… I’m happy to blow it to you that,,,, you’re a JOKE…
NMCN’s wickedness gets renewed day in day out!!!
Majority of the high paying countries for Nurses, require VERIFICATION OF LICENSURE …
Even if you have no plans of migrating to another country from where you currently are, they can come up with other policies that can affect Nigerian Nurses in Diaspora!!!
This is why WE ALL NEED TO COME TOGETHER and tackle this madness!!!
Stop discouraging those giving Nurses a voice!!!! & a platform to fight!!! JOIN THEM!!
It’s not enough to create Nursing associations abroad that only cater for end of the year parties! You have the platform! Use it to support Nurses back home.
Anyone that tries to water down the efforts currently being put in place by some Nigerian Nurses should be dragged, until they’re too embarrassed to keep their accounts.
Everybody must unite to fight this injustice!
This is soooo insightful!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Philippines 🇵🇭 government follows a similar template! They see the benefits and will not stop their nurses from moving to other countries! They already have cordial relationship with these countries! Nigerian government first started from “They’re brain draining us!” To incite WHO against recruitment from Nigeria … yet! Loads of Nigerian Nursing grads are jobless! With no hopes… it’s just sad
Nigerian nurses are terribly underpaid and heavily overworked. Many of them barely make 150,000 naira a month. That is barely £75 an entire month.
These are people with children, relatives, wives and husbands who they have to care for. They have to pay rent, pay school fees and pay bills from these peanuts they earn. This is why many of them are leaving Nigeria.
The nursing council has stopped verifying their licenses which means it is now impossible for any one of them to leave the country to chase greener pastures elsewhere.
Govt is not ready to pay them better.
Govt is stopping them to travel abroad.
Pay them well, you say no. Let them leave the country, you still say no.
We must all lend our voices and speak up for the nurses. It is the nurses today, who will it be next? Doctors? Lab scientists? Dentists? Radiographers? Pharmacists? Accountants? Engineers?
Remember this quote:
“First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
—Martin Niemöller”
Please speak up for nigerian nurses today. Don’t wait for when it will be your turn because it will be too late by then.
Lend your voice. Use the hashtag.
Please retweet and share. It only takes 2seconds to get this message out.

@NWDSDMC Give them a voice and they will get creative using evidence based approaches. They can also conduct relevant research in digital transformation #NWDSDMC
@NWDSDMC Yes, I would even say they have major roles to play. From educating themselves to getting the word out to others about digital transformation to becoming change agent. They should be seen as an integral part of the system #NWDSDMC
@NWDSDMC They should have access to have hands on experience with the digital tools, this should start up even before they come into the clinical settings for their placement and they should also have access to use the tools while on placement.
@NWDSDMC To serve as change agents from the onset of their career as nurses. It will promote an avenue for sustainability. They can also bring their creative ideas to the table.
@NWDSDMC I am Olubunmi, a senior staff nurse in the Virtual Ward. I looked forward to learn more about the inclusion of students in digital transformation #NWDSDMC
@DHCNIO@DigiNurseBecca Digital innovation shouldn’t be seen as a stand alone. There must be good integration into the existing system while highlighting the benefits of the innovations. Stakeholder must also be given a sense of ownership and stability from the very beginning #CNIO#DHNetworks
@DHCNIO My recent work in Virtual ward has made me to appreciate remote monitoring as one of the biggest innovation at the moment. Most especially when I get feedbacks from patients about the remote care at home, I truly agree that remote monitoring is such a great innovation #DHNetworks
