FromSoftware making an 8-player online exclusive for the Switch 2 is a crazy bet.

The whole game needs an active multiplayer base to work, but FromSoft players aren't exactly known for hanging out on Nintendo hardware. I'm genuinely curious who fills these lobbies. Are the PC and PlayStation guys actually going to buy a Switch 2 just for this? 😅

The upcoming closed network trial for The Duskbloods is going to be the first real look at what the Switch 2 hardware can actually do.

I already thought a FromSoftware exclusive was a crazy bet, but the multiplayer demands here are heavy:
• Up to 8 players in a PvPvE environment
• Registration is open until July 28 (trial runs August 21, 24)
• Requires a Nintendo Switch Online sub

Throwing eight players into a FromSoft map is a lot to process. This trial is the first concrete proof of how the new machine manages actual multiplayer strain.

I'm applying mostly because I just want to see how the engine holds together when an entire lobby starts fighting at once 😅
