Amicus curiae retired Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban praised Senator-judge Kiko Pangilinan on Wednesday, citing seeing him in action in the Judicial and Bar Council.

“I’ve seen you in action when I was incumbent chief justice and chairman of the JBC. You were representing the Senate in the JBC. And I must say, without any qualms about, that you have been an excellent member of the JBC in representing the Senate and I think that you should have been in the court, as a matter of fact,” he said.

“Salamat po, maraming salamat po. Thank you for your kind words,” Pangilinan replied.

The Journalist’s defensive questioning has put the young Attorney Panelo in a discombobulated state during their exchanges. I like this woman’s fearless questioning.

The young Panelo, though, has learnt well from his father, Attorney Salvador Panelo, when it comes to undermining the ends of justice through deliberate distortions of the truth and displays of moral incongruity.

Whilst they seek for just application of the law and due process, albeit wrongly applied in the case of the Vice President as she is the undeniable aggressor, their manoeuvres expose a pattern of systemic evasion. They are treating the law not as a standard of justice, but as a political shield for acts of blatant hostility.

Thanks to the arrival of brave and intelligent journalists at an opportune time, these defenders of bad behaviours are also exposed.
