I NEED TO KNOW: Was there a store in your town that displayed bounced checks as a sort of “we don’t accept checks from these people” shame board? Mentioned this to a friend like it was the common occurrence I thought it was and she looked at me like I had 3 heads.

@TheRichardClark Oh yeah, I definitely presented it as something stores *used* to do. She’d never heard of it and I started to wonder if it was just the small Midwest town I’d lived in. Everyone knew everyone and there’d be my friend’s parents’ check posted at the IGA. It felt all kinds of awful.
