@USCISDirector@USCIS I hope at least this week the cases will get expedited for some lucky ones😀. While we appreciate your customer oriented tweet, you must realize the fact that USCIS needs more manpower. Use some tax dollars here than using them to settle illegal immigrants in USA.@FoxNews@CNN
No wonder they do not feel any guilt, shame or remorse in wasting 80k+ GCs. Saying we processed more than before is not an excuse and nothing to pat themselves on the back. They literally have the best of both worlds - a gov't agency working on private funds. No accountability.
I only came to know about the Visa Bulletin when my company lawyer informed me they can't file I-140 and I-485 concurrently for me while they can for my colleague. Company filed our GCs at the same time. Only difference, she was born in Belgium. One of the worst days of my life.
I wish I knew US immigration laws better before coming to US to do Masters degree here on a full scholarship. I had no idea of the birth country caps. My education, skills made no difference and all that mattered to US was my birth country. I may have gone elsewhere.
Happy 75th Independence Day, India! Wishing everyone a safe and happy celebration:)
Many thanks to our guest artist Sayan Mukherjee for this year's beautiful doodle! https://t.co/7ChmC9F4JF
Top three ways for USCIS to clear its backlog:
1) quickly grant all pending I-539 extensions (if pple had conscientiousness to file, they aren't "bad people" to be looking for)
2) quickly grant every pending EB I-485 if background is clear
3) quickly grant I-765 renewals
It's clear @USCIS is doing a ton of work internally to try to accelerate adjudication of AOS applications before the end of the fiscal year. We recognize this is no small task, and appreciate the receptivity to stakeholder feedback and the efforts to prevent green card waste.
Who would have thought Biden, a Democrat, will preside over one of the biggest cuts in legal immigration by wasting 100k GCs. No one is talking about it. Glad Washington Post is covering this issue & grateful David writing about it. Great article. Waiting to be published.
I came in USA on Jan 4, 2012. Applied GC in Jan 2015 & PD is May 2015
My many friends come from other country applied GC after me. Many of them for GC within a year.
I got SS 40+ points..
Still I am on H1 & waiting for GC.
Is this land of opportunity or keeping us as slave?
Thank you to the 3700+ people of the high-skilled community that joined this very important call. We only have truth on our side. Looking forward to your participation and getting us through the finish line. Please visit https://t.co/ijgB5alwHc
No immigrant has taken your job. You were laid off by a capitalist who took advantage of that immigrant to increase their profits. Nothing makes the capitalist happier than you blaming the immigrant and not the capitalist.
The perennially cash strapped agency always has one affluent immigrant community to immediately turn to for cash. Even Congress knows this. Passed a bill knowing this community can afford the high PP fees to keep agency afloat and save jobs. Then they get labeled as "cheap labor"
"Backlog Elimination" - a hot topic at USCIS since at least 2006. 15 years later and they still have not accomplished it. I think they need to go back to the drawing board and get these processing times under control once and for all. #Immigration
Pre H-4 biometrics, if an H-1B, H-4, and H4EAD application package was submitted together with H-1B as PP, USCIS would approve all 3 together. Now, USCIS will take PP fees for all 3 steps. The backlogged community bears the brunt, have no choice as alternative is job loss.
Stop adjudicating advanced parole, employment authorization documents, and the other garbage applications that aren't required by law. Let applicants travel/work automatically without going through bureaucratic BS and process what the law *requires* you to process
How insane is it that we're unable, unwilling (afraid?) to rush adjudications of a form with a 95% approval rate, where nearly every applicant is already here working, where there are virtually no security risks, where they're almost all extremely highly skilled? Go faster!
While American economy benefits from #h1b visa holders, lack of immigration reforms hurts the visa holder and their family. They keep trying to dodge the bullet for years and in most cases for over a decade cos one job loss would mean uprooting! #emptypromises need to end (end)
H4 kids aren't protected although they grew in the US, go out of status at 21, or follow the visa limbo themselves to stay together with family. Penalized because they are documented! You'd never see their pictures with @POTUS or @VP or bigger advocacy groups! #fairness (5)
