While the main objective of this exercise is to go straight into the 3 chord shapes quickly it also lets me try various positions to use the pick and also different pickup and foot pedal settings
My passenger has taken a video of the convoy from the back of our taxi. Not the smoothest of film but should give you an idea what it’s like to be escorted by the Dutch police
The @taxicharity visit to the Netherlands comes to an end as our convoy leaves Fletcher Hotel, Wageningen. The Dutch people really appreciate our veterans.
In 2022 I took Major Ted Hunt who was guest of honour at the opening of a memorial to the Bailey bridge constructed at Gennep
Major Cris Smee was in charge of the memorial. We marked the occasion this year with memorial flower and a meal with others there 4 years ago
101 year old Veteran George Durrant with his daughter and son in law collected from Crawley
Currently on our way to Harwich to cross to the Netherlands tonight as part of the Taxi Charity contingent making their annual Liberation Day parade event.
Just had a last breakfast with Bill at Warwick Avenue Cabmen’s Shelter this morning and also presented him with a little gift I had done for him. Bill has worked in both The Bell & Horns and Warwick Avenue Shelters during his time. Enjoy your retirement Bill all the best 👍
Just had Poppy Cab checked out by E1 taxis ready for the Taxi Charity annual trip to Netherlands on Saturday.
Thank you E1 and Cabvision for all you do to help these trips.
Had eye tests following up my cataract operations last year. 98% peripheral vision left eye, 95% right.
Consultant happy. Patient (me) very happy
Big up for Southlands Hospital who were open on a Sunday. Staff very pleasant, very efficient.
Next follow up in 6-8 months.
I’ve recently got a metronome which I’m using here to keep time for the 4 chord G Em C D sequence. Compare this with the post I made on 16/12 last year to see if I’m any better
While effects pedals can help hide some mistakes they can’t hide them all as I demonstrate with my Squier Stratocaster.
Don’t wince too much when you hear them - I’m still learning and at 78 with arthritic fingers it takes me a bit longer than most youngsters
