Children’s book author Lisa Kerr will be at the Poppy Reserve on Saturday April 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to sign her newly released children’s book, Wake, Sleepy One. Written in lyrical prose with beautifully detailed illustrations. Park fees are waived for this event.

The bloom is beginning!
Patches of poppies, lacy phacelia, grape soda lupine & "belly flowers" such as slender-keel fruit, red maids, forget-me-nots, and red stem filaree are found along many trails.
It may be short without more rain, but should be good for at least 2-3 weeks.

April 7, 2021: It doesn’t appear that the rain earlier this year will produce a good bloom this year. These photos of the #PoppyReserve were taken this afternoon. The wildflowers blooming throughout the reserve are very sparse.
