Mainland High School Shelter is at capacity. Hopefully everyone is where they’re supposed to be because we are now under a curfew. However, if you need to shelter in Port Orange, Creekside Middle School is still an option @cityportorange
If you’re stilll doing prep your time is nearly up-you should rush to completion this morning before conditions become hazardous! The tornado threat will increase as the day unfolds. Listen for Watches/Warnings! If you’ve been ordered to evacuate the time is now @cityportorange
The time to shelter in place has arrived! The weather will continue to deteriorate, and there’s really no reason to be out on the roads. Be safe, everyone!!!
Residents with questions may reach out to the City through its Citizens Hotline at 386-506-5999 from 7:00 a.m. until7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8. @cityportorange
A curfew will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday lasting until 8 a.m. Thursday to discourage unnecessary traffic during the height of the storm. The curfew does not apply to members of law enforcement, employees while traveling for their jobs and emergency workers. @cityportorange
Important Update: Due to the supply, the Port Orange sandbag distribution site is closed. The site is not expected to reopen.
Please plan accordingly!

Sandbags still available at City Center. It’s very very busy so let’s be patient with each other!!! Glad to see so much goodwill out here with people helping each other.
City crews continue working alongside WastePro to clean debris from Helene. They worked the weekend and will go until conditions worsen before Milton arrives. Please don’t cut down additional limbs as this slows the collection process and creates hazards! @cityportorange#Milton
Just a reminder-as you’re doing your hurricane prep, when getting fuel for a generator or yard equipment, it is highly recommended that you get Ethanol free fuel. #Milton@cityportorange
