I think it’s more surprising that we’ve only had one season over the last 5 years where they’ve had 2 SP finish top 10

1. Star players aren’t stars in 26
2. too many baffling in game decisions
3. Green lit payroll to grow only 2 mil YoY coming off an ALCS
4. In season roster management has been atrocious, but built a good enough roster to win division.

Putting in Ferrar against a mostly right handed lineup when he’s giving up a .314 AVG against righties. Hard to win when you are constantly putting guys in positions to fail.

I’ve generally been favorable with this FO, but the way they’ve managed the fringes is bizarre

@RefuseToLosePod Fair enough—I certainly don’t want to come across as the J Simpson guy 😅. Just saying the process makes sense to me to use the L vs the L in that spot. I would agree I trust Miller more 90% of the time, but he looked toast at that point in the game 🤷🏻‍♂️

@RefuseToLosePod Yelich has 82 wrc+ against L. You are right that people would have ripped him if he put in Simpson and he gave up a bomb, but for me—if Simpson comes in that spot and serves up the bomb the question shifts to why the heck is that guy rostered if he can’t get a L hitter out

@Softykjr You play him. It’s a rarity to have a + offensive catcher. As long as he plays great defense and commands the staff you ride it out regardless of the bat. It’s not ideal, but it’s a better situation than if your first baseman is hitting .160

Dan is completely broken as a manager. I feel for the dude cause he’s a world class human, but he just ain’t it man.
