Living it new

@NationwideRadio Poor leadership. Corruption. Market focused society, govt and institutions prioritizing investors vs Jamaican people.

@ClydeWilliams46 As powerful as this text is, it comes from King James version and it's looking like zionist hijacked Christianity around a 100 years ago to ease the acceptance of the capture of Palestinian land in the name of biblical lore.

@Mandeyyah @KyleAnthonie JLPNP failed to position Jamaica against US-Western bully tactics. Depending on tourism, mining and remittance has left Jamaica a loyal vassal of US. A US on the decline, mind you.

@travismacmillan Who ya think run and own the banks?
"85% proceeds of drug money is in big banks in US."
Who is underwriting Ja banking policies?

[Travis MacVillan 😈 @travismacmillan]

It’s un-fucking-believable how long it takes to create a business bank account in Jamaica. 🇯🇲

I’m treated like a drug dealer, tax evading, money laundering criminal.

Yet, I see the tax evaders, money launderers and drug dealers living lavishly without a fucking problem.

@travismacmillan @JamaicaGleaner Same thing with, "The Tape", 1000lbs of cocaine at Ian Fleming, 500 guns found in Spanish Town.

Big news dropped yesterday: NCB Financial Group is backing Jamaica Broilers Group with a massive J$15.1 billion financing package. As someone who follows the JSE closely, this one matters. Let me break it down plainly, what happened, how we got here, and what it actually means.

Jamaicans need a place where we can take complaints on bank & financial institutions (mal) practice or negligence and get speedy remedy. These entities do all kinds of ‘crazy’ stuff with people’s accounts. The list is long.

I wonder if Bank of Jamaica, the Bank Regulator, could introduce a bank customers service/affairs? The Office to have the ability to intervene. This of course would involve some amendments to
Law.

A customer suing not appropriate as these matters tend to be current. They are now matters that need resolution. Plus the power & financial dynamics and time involved in suing your bank often make it not practical. Banks have deep litigation pockets. There is no equality of arms when a customer sues their bank over the (mis) handling of their account.

Dont expect your bank to act on your complaint, made online to a ‘customer service’ agent. Even when you go in person you generally leave dissatisfied, more stressed…unno know weh I a seh.

The Jamaican banks won’t change their poor, negligent, and unjustifiable customer service if the Regulator does not get involved. And it’s not a simple why not change your bank question; the service standards are poor right across the board.

@mcewan_janiel @JamaicaGleaner Agreed.

[Clyde Williams @ClydeWilliams46]

I have been tracking serious crime data since 2004. Late 1990s last time we fell below 1,000 reported murders annually. Murder in Jamaica shot up in the 2000s. For many years reported murders were way in excess of 40 in every 100k of the population annually. And shot up to 60 and over in 2005, 2008 and 2017.

We are coming from a very bad place. I await the analysis. To properly understand murder you have to separate killings that arise from domestic disputes and those that arise from organized crime/gang violence. We have long journey ahead, but this is a relief.

To go forward we have to be as clinical and honest as possible in the analysis of the contributing factors. Social scientists emphasize the importance of trends in understanding social phenomena. Let’s push for sustainable.

@DamienWKing Then there's an open sea...

[BÏGChoppaChopShop @PositiveRasVybz]

@integrityja What's the point of these notices if Parliament can bury these reports and leave public unaware of public servants running afoul of law. There's really nothing stopping public servants, especially Parliamentarians, from enriching themselves.

[BÏGChoppaChopShop @PositiveRasVybz]

@brandodunnjr Long story short, women w/ children were largely ignored. My observation, Jcan society doesn't respect or love Jcan Black and poor ppl.

[BÏGChoppaChopShop @PositiveRasVybz]
