1. 빅테크 회사들(구글, 애플, 아마존 등)은

이더리움과 같이, L1 네트워크 코인을 개발할 능력은 충분히 되지만, 문제점들이 있음.

- 이제 시작하면 이더리움만큼 탈중화네트워크가 되기 매우 힘듦. (블록체인으로써 중앙화된 네트워크는 신용도가 낮아짐 = 솔라나)

이더리움은 7년동안 수많은 전투를 치루고 오류를 개선하고, 웃고 웃으며 노드 검증자들과 신뢰를 쌓아 왔음

이건 빅테크가 들어왔다고 해서 한순간에 깨질 신뢰나 기술력의 축적이 아님.

-네트워크를 만든 빅테크 자신만 이용하는 네트워크가 되어버림.

예를들어 일론머스크가 L1 체인을 만든다면 메타의 마크 주크버그가 그 위에 개발을 할까요? ㄴㄴㄴ 안함.

결국 중립성을 가진 스케일 큰 네크워크가 있어야되는데 지금은 이더리움밖에 없음.

-상호호환성(Interoperability)는 지금까지 구현되지 않은 엄청난 가치임

이게 메타버스와도 연결이 되는데,

스타벅스에서 적립한 포인트는 스타벅스 앱에서밖에 사용 못하고 그 특정 국가에서만 사용 할 수 있음.

하지만 스타벅스가 이더리움안에서 포인트 시스템을 만들고 고객에게 준다면,

이 포인트를 스왑해서 테슬라 차량을 살때 지불할 수 있게 되어버림.

이 가치는 지금까지 실현이 안되어 감이 안올수도 있는데, 마크주크버그가 메타버스를 아직도 포기 못하는 이유가 이러한 가치 때문임.

2. 솔라나 등 더 향상된 기술력을 가진 후발주자에 대한 문제

이부분은 이미 결정이 났다고 봄

솔라나는 속도는 빠르지만, 엄청난 단점이 있음. 그건 바로 네트워크를 검증하는 노드가 몇개 없다는 말임.

예를들면 이더리움은, 내가 집을 샀는데 그 집을 샀다는 사실을 보증해주는 사람이 20만명이나 있는거임

근데 솔라나는, 내가 집을 샀는데 단 10명만 내가 그 집을 샀다는 사실을 보증하는것임. 그러면 우연히도 10명이 죽거나 갑자기 문제가 생기면, 그 네트워크는 스탑되어버림.

솔라나는 실제로 서버가 다운되는 경우가 몇번 있었음

그래서 이런 불안정하고 중앙화된 네트워크에 블랙록이나 은행들이 믿고 자산을 토큰화 시킬 수 있을까? 아니라고 봄.

그리고 솔라나 이외에 수이라던지, 세이 등등의 L1 네트워크가 있지만 모두 솔라나와 비슷한 단점을 가지고 있음.

그래서 이더리움 내에서 코인베이스의 Base 체인과 같이, 빠른 속도를 보여주는 이더리움 L2가 각광받고 있는것임

-결론: 이더리움은 이제 대체되거나 갑자기 없어질 만한 스케일을 넘어섰음

“알트코인은 쓸모가 없다”라는게 받아들여졌지만, 적어도 이더리움에 관해선 이제는 아님.

이더리움의 "소각"에 대해 알아보자

2100만개로 총 발행량이 고정되어 있는 비트코인에 비해 이더리움은 네트워크 참여에 대한 보상으로 밸리데이터에게 영구적으로 보상이 주어집니다. 즉, 발행량이 무제한이라는 것이죠.
이는 이더리움의 가치를 점차 희석시키는 원인이 됩니다. (스테이킹 하지 않는다면 말이죠)

그래서 이더리움 네트워크는 네트워크를 사용하는 것에 따라 $ETH 를 소각시키는 매커니즘을 가지고 있습니다.

1. 트랜잭션 수수료 소각
우리가 이더리움 네트워크에서 $ETH를 전송하거나, 컨트랙트를 실행하기 위해서는 네트워크에 트랜잭션을 보냅니다. 이때 내 트랜잭션을 블록에 담아달라는 "수수료"가 포함되어 있죠.
이 수수료, 그러니까 가스비는 Base Fee(기본 수수료)와 Priority Fee(팁)으로 나눠집니다.
기본 수수료는 트랜잭션을 블록에 담기 위한 최소의 기본 비용입니다. 이는 이전 블록의 혼잡도에 따라 자동으로 매겨지죠.
그리고 Priority Fee는 내 트랜잭션을 먼저 담아달라는 의미로 얹어주는 추가 팁입니다. 트랜잭션을 빠르게 실행해야 하는 경우 이 팁을 높혀서 전송하는 것이죠.

이때 Priority Fee는 블록을 생성하는 밸리데이터에게 지급되며, Base Fee는 모두 소각됩니다.
이더리움 네트워크의 사용량이 많을수록 블록에 더 많은 트랜잭션이 담기고, Base Fee도 올라가기에 더 많은 $ETH 가 소각되게 됩니다.

2. Blob Fee 소각
일반 사용자들이 보내는 트랜잭션과 다르게, 이더리움의 L2들은 Blob이라는 별도의 공간을 사용합니다.
즉, 작년 Dencun 업그레이드 이후 이더리움은 일반 사용자(b2c)와 L2와 같은 기업 사용자(b2b)를 구분해 사용료를 받고있는 것이죠.
이 Blob 사용료 역시도 Base Fee와 Priority Fee로 나눠져 있고, 마찬가지로 Base Fee는 모두 소각합니다.

이렇게 이더리움은 사용자 트랜잭션 수수료와 Blob 수수료를 소각하고 있습니다. 이런 방식으로 이더리움이 PoS로 전환한 약 3년동안 198만개의 $ETH 가 소각되었죠.

지금 이더리움은 한 블록에 더 많은 트랜잭션을 담을수 있도록 블록당 Gas Limit를 공격적으로 증가시키고 있습니다.
네트워크의 사용이 늘어나더라도 사용가 감당해야하는 수수료는 기존보다 감소하겠지만, 블록에 담긴 더 많은 트랜잭션으로 인해 더 많은 ETH가 소각되게 될 것입니다.
또한 이더리움을 사용하는 L2가 빠르게 늘어나고 있으며, 이더리움은 Blob공간의 수를 매 업데이트마다 늘려가고 있습니다. 올해 말 예정된 PeerDAS 업그레이드가 적용될 경우, 블록당 Blob수는 최대 48개까지 증가하게 됩니다.
즉, 일반 사용자와 L2 모두 더 저렴한 수수료로 이더리움을 사용할수 있게 되며 사용자가 증가함에 따라 블록당 더 많은 $ETH 가 소각될수 있게 되는 것이죠.
