This is exactly why I kept saying Manchester United should never panic buy because fans are impatient.Brighton were reportedly demanding around £120m for Carlos Baleba earlier in the window. Now, with two weeks left, reports are putting the figure closer to £40–50m. That’s potentially a £70–80m difference.

Some of you called me every name under the sun for saying INEOS should walk away from inflated valuations. Where are those same people now. This is football business. Price matters. Timing matters. Patience matters.

If a player is worth £50m today, why should United have handed Brighton £120m yesterday just to satisfy the timeline on X. I’d rather INEOS get the valuation right than win the transfer window race and lose £70m in the process.

City broke the British transfer record for a goalkeeper when they signed James Trafford 12 months ago. He was immediately replaced after his home debut by the highest paid goalkeeper in the world. He played a total of 2 more games after his home debut yet City have managed to sell him at a profit. There isn’t a human being with an IQ above room temperature that believes this is legitimate, it’s completely ridiculous. Now, I’m not suggesting Utd are a paragon of virtue and they wouldn’t do the same if they could but they haven’t. There is simply no way James Trafford’ transfer value increased last season, it’s patently ridiculous

On Goldbridge: the system rewards negativity. I remember when he started and it was just content about the team and fan opinions. The minute he went negative he started to blow up. People do what the algorithms reward the most, so can't blame him or the hustle 💰. It's sad in a way, but that's the market for you.
