@Sargon_of_Akkad We need to be thinking like a developing country, and put in place policies that use what resources we have to re-industrialise. A strategy for the electrification of the economy with low-cost electricity is just one of many basic requirements.
@RupertLowe10 Well said @RupertLowe10 . I'm no fan of Kanye West, but performers of any stripe should be allowed to come to perform in the UK without interference from the government.
The thing is that fossil fuels are finite, and we need to move to other energy sources in any case. A sensible thing to do would be to fully exploit domestic fossil fuels (e.g. coal, oil and gas) while we replace them with Nuclear, wind, solar and hydroelectric. Seems we don't have the sense to do this.
@AaronBastani It used to be normal for British people to want British-owned infrastructure. I distinctly remember those days. Thatcher played a big part in selling the country out to the Americans.
