Task: Improve your media literacy
1) Find an Ad in a magazine or on TV etc.
2) Ask yourself what is the Ad selling and what does it look like it's selling
3) Are the models in the AD being objectified or airbrushed, does it make you feel bad about your body?
4) Critique it
Models used in advertisements are usually that photo shopped that the way they look is actually unachievable in real life, this is unacceptable. If you see any examples of this tell the company how you feel #makeachange
This company uses average size models to advertise their clothing, and have found that this actually increases sales, yay #bodypositive https://t.co/QvF9tfO7Gs
Task: Sick of magazines always promoting unrealistic body types, lets do something about it
1) Grab a magazine
2) Find images that you think are promoting unrealistic ideals for women, cut them out and edit them so that they promote positvity
3) Reply to this example with yours
Hey babes, we don't use photoshop on model's stretch marks, only the pants she wears underneath 😜 Embrace your "flaws" and don't ever strive for what the world perceives as perfection. Keep on being you and #makeyourmark.
