Though the currency is different - US costs, development charges, wages, all that - the $2.2B for Ontario Place redevelopment is the exact same USD figure as the planned new NFL stadium in Buffalo for the Bills, in 2026.
If you know anything about sports stadium/arena infrastructure, trust me, this is a remarkable indictment of the provincial’s government spending & decision-making on this. There’s no way this should be comparable.
Ontario Place needed something - lots of things, actually - Navy Pier in Chicago is the perfect public/private mix….but this is disastrous & I resent that my grandkids will pay for this poor management - oh, YOURS will, too!
@Maven@Wi5dom12@Grazen@Methodz@TorontoUltra@RBOFLX You want wild Clint? If both Toronto and Optic win their semifinal matches tomorrow, then THE FINALS will decide which team gets the final spot in the winners bracket.
@Maven@Wi5dom12@Grazen@Methodz@TorontoUltra@RBOFLX If Toronto wins vs Dallas, and Optic loses vs. FaZe, there is a three way tie at 100 points. The first two tiebreakers are tied, i.e. Toronto > Optic, Optic > Paris, and Paris > Toronto. The third tiebreaker is overall match win%, which Toronto would have the best in this case.
@mirtle@domluszczyszyn They may also separate the trades so they can get a defenceman from any team. Then trade Barrie out west once his replacement is acquired.
Kobe Bryant, 2008: "Have a good time. Life is too short to get bogged down and be discouraged.
"You have to keep moving. You have to keep going. Put one foot in front of the other, smile and just keep on rolling.
@EarlSchwartz27 I wonder what he would realistically cost. It doesn't seem like Jeff Gorton is pushing him out the door the way he's playing right now. Maybe Kapanen? Or Bracco?
@mirtle The answer here is Alexandar Georgiev. He's 23 and shown promise in the NHL. The Rangers are in their "goalie pickle" with Igor Shesterkin, so Georgiev can be had for the right price.
Only question is, what's the right price? Probably something the Leafs can afford to pay.
