Big weekend for the Post 159 program as we gear up for the start of the 2026 season. Between our annual golf outing, flag placement, the launch of our 14U team, and nearly 20 active or committed collegiate alumni, we’re excited to get back on the diamond.
⛳ Over 100 golfers joined us at Cadiz Country Club for our 10th Annual Golf Outing in support of the program. It was a great day on the course — and we almost made it through all 18 holes without rain!
🇺🇸 Members of our staff, players, and families placed flags on the graves of veterans at Belmont Memorial Cemetery atop Blaine Hill. While this is traditionally our kickoff and uniform handout event, scheduling conflicts left us short-handed this year. Even so, we made sure this important tradition was completed in honor of the veterans we proudly represent.
⚾ Our inaugural 14U team officially opened its season at the Ace of Diamonds Tournament in New Waterford, marking the launch of the third level of the Post 159 program. This expansion creates another opportunity for Belmont County athletes to grow and compete under the Post 159 banner for years to come.
Exciting things continue to happen within the program as we now provide more than 50 young ballplayers the opportunity to compete, develop, and represent a very special cause — our Post 159 veterans and all those who served.
As of this spring, at least 17 current players or alumni are continuing their baseball careers at the collegiate level. If we accidentally missed anyone, we apologize — we’re proud of every one of you:
Braylen Blomquist — Wright State
Treston Nemeth — Slippery Rock
Brody Saunders — Ashland
Peyton Blue — Potomac State
Hunter Hoffman — Walsh
Jake Heatherington — Baldwin Wallace
Mason Myers — Findlay
Evan White — Franciscan

Max Castro — Salem
Billy Schumacher — Muskingum
Kody Carver — Washington & Jefferson

We look forward to seeing everyone at the ballfields this summer for another season of #OneFiveNine baseball!
Long week of baseball for the Post 159 program which ultimately ended the season Saturday for both groups. The Region 4 Senior tourney was hosted here in St. Clairsville. Their inaugural year, the Juniors make an appearance in the Ohio State ALB tourney in Lancaster!
Seniors: Opened the Region tourney with a 9-5 win against Marietta. In the winner bracket final, Beverly Lowell walks off 3-2 before Marietta avenges their earlier loss 4-1 to end the season.
Juniors: Opened up against the eventual State champion Lancaster Post 11 dropping a thriller 1-0 8 inning affair. Roby Hanna straight deals for 7IP 9K 2BB before hitting pitch count. After two more run rule wins, the eventual State runner up Bettsville Post 733 ends the inaugural campaign one game from the State Championship.
This concludes an exciting year for the program. Bringing additional opportunities for local talent to play high level competitive baseball has been cemented. We are already back to the drawing board and excited to reload!
To our three departing Seniors aging out- Peyton Blue, Evan White, and Hunter Mueller. You will forever be a part of something special. Thank you all for your contributions!
A special thanks goes out to Junior GM Matt King, Head Coach Mason Ramsay, Tyler Tonkovich, and Jake Heatherington. It's great to have three former players invest back into the kids and program to get it off the ground!
Senior assistant coaches: Tim Blue and Jeff Miller. Can't ask for two better diehards to call three times a night at any hour! Thank you both!
All of the Region 4 prep also doesn't go unnoticed. Randy Mellott for the hours he put in organizing and setting the complex including concessions. Score keepers: Bruce Meyers, John Tomlan. Gatekeepers: Ryah and Amy Baugh. Announcers: Dave Hoffman and Gary White. Miscellaneous errand runners: Kash, Lex, Bane, Henry, and Deklan. And last but not least, my wife Alison, for a little bit of everything. The head coach wife life is not for the faint of heart.
It's been a groundbreaking summer! Thank you for all the support for the boys! We have one last event September 20th which is the 9th Annual Post 159 Baseball Golf Scramble. Come support one last time!
Until next year! #OneFiveNine
