@MattWeaverRA bumping this bc i mean it and i believe it and i have so much more i wish we could make progress on as a sport. until then, ill be thankful these old races are easily accessible to watch
@ChrisPhineas@MattWeaverRA The attendance should not be worried about. 70k grandstand ticket sales is good for a NASCAR race nowadays. It's impossible to make 07k people in 250k seats look like a packed house.
@MattWeaverRA I can't remember a single time where-besides the Indy 500 itself-IMS has produced good racing. For any series in any layout (besides the Indy 500).
@stevooooo24 I need you to go back and watch this race with previous cars.
Listen, I am no advocate of this car but I require a degree of intellectual honesty from you.
#NASCAR... For those of you (like myself) hoping @CoreyHeim_ would continue to use the No. 67 in 2027, after winning two races in it, @DennyHamlin says on Actions Detrimental that Heim had the choice, but the car will be No. 35.
"He says [the No. 67] is a stupid, goofy number."
INDYCAR unveiled renderings of new car today:
-100 pounds lighter with hybrid 20 pounds lighter and gearbox 25 pounds lighter
-should be faster
-more stable front wing for superspeedways
-teams no longer will design dampers. Teams have options from a single-source supplier
I know they are old bricks and I know they want them to look good and not potentially be damaged by a burnout and I know there are people who care about this place with all their hearts and feel the sacredness of the bricks ... But I just don't get worked up over this. At all.
Larson crashed at 2:58. After 14 minutes, we had one lap before the stage break. Stage 2 went back to green at 3:26
One lap of green-flag racing in 28 minutes
Running extra laps under caution just to reach the stage end is also holding fans hostage or asking them to do something else with their Sunday.
This is also not a 'race length' issue.
NASCAR is going to waste 4 laps under caution and then waste more time with the Stage 2 break.
Like I said, if you want shorter races, here is your solution…Eliminate stage yellows.
You'd think that after how many times we've done this stupid ass 1-lap stage restart, NASCAR would go, "hey, maybe adding another pointless 20-minute yellow flag is a BAD thing for fans". They will never learn
