The recent gun violence at Rapid City's Grand Gateway Hotel are personal tragedies for all involved. The hotel owner's subsequent declaration that it would "no longer allow any Native American on property," however, is a tragedy for our society....
In response to the hotel, hundreds marched in Rapid City calling for businesses to join the march and for an end to racism and racial profiling.

Family of Pourier who’s in the hospital speak, I believe it’s Clifford Scott speaking now.
He said what happened Saturday morning is just another in a long line of events. He said the family asks to keep in mind both Pourier and Quincy Bear Robe, who was arrested.
Congrats to @Brendan_SD on filing this lawsuit challenging a South Dakota hotel’s policy to ban Native Americans, a blatant violation of the law. https://t.co/2qpvwNEozB
The crime wave (not just a local issue) some want to blame on “dark money” has a more logical explanation. I’ve been saying this for two years.

More pushback: The Perkins attached to the Grand Gateway Hotel is owned+operated by Northcott Hospitality, not the Uhre family. The Perkins is no longer allowing ppl at the hotel bar order its food since the hotel/bar's "business practices+beliefs do not match those of Perkins."
