Dropped in to the buzz line in the Kingsmead fish park. Huge thanks on behalf of bees to all the wonderful volunteers and can't wait to see it in the spring!
Day three in Hackney!
Landscaping works at the Kingsmead Medical Centre are almost complete. Today we placed down the remaining tonnage of gravel and used a compactor to bind the gravel into a level and smooth surface.
The delayed edging material luckily arrived in the post and we got busy Installing the metal edging to define the gardens prime flowerbed and placed donated mulch from @Sparrowhawktrees into the bed.
Tomorrow GrowN22 will complete the compacting of the self binding gravel, installed screening in front of the AC units, install benches and complete the landscaping then the local community can begin the fun part; planting!
Thanks to @Daubeneyfields @PostcodeGardenr @matthewsgardenmaintenance and @Sparrowhawktrees 💚
Day Two in Hackney!
Landscaping works are continuing at the Kingsmead Medical Centre. Today, we laid a weed control membrane across the site and started placing self binding gravel from @stone_warehouse everywhere.
Thanks to the amazing Meg from @Jewson for sorting GrowN22 out with a compactor.
The edging materials are delayed by a day and hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow then installed so we can refine the flowerbeds and get ready to complete the landscaping on Friday.
Thanks to @daubeneyfields @matthewsgardenmaintenance @PostcodeGardenr 💚
In olden days, the rich counted their wealth in bags of gold. On the #HackneyBuzzline we count richness in bags of bluebell bulbs. Instead of taking metal out of the earth, we put plants back into it!

The community-made meadows on Daubeney Fields are in their second year and looking good.
Sown with a perennial seed mix, they just need an annual cut. I do it with a scythe, removing the cut grass to keep the soil fertility down and leaving some over winter for insects.
I'm starting work on a pollinator garden in Hackney's Kingsmead Estate for the Hackney Buzzline pollinator corridor. I'm creating the garden with volunteers from the community to celebrate the life of Carol - a much-loved resident on the estate who, sadly, recently passed away.
We’ve jumped through all their hoops, but they’ve moved the goal posts! Council debate refused despite over 3,000+ valid signatures.
But we're not giving up!

Many thanks for the praise & RT, Cllr. We'd love to continue further beautifying of Nightingale, with some residents asking for more parklets in the empty car spaces along Napoleon Road.
Would love your help in doing so.
