Bannon’s latest legal challenge to be heard tomorrow raises the interesting legal question: does being publicly accused of criminal action give you a reason to delay trial for avoiding a subpoena that might have resulted in being publicly accused of criminal action?
@wifemomcpa100 Influenced by current condition: why not get get drunk with group. I met so manny cool and powerful people tonight in 4 hour cocktail event. Sorry if this is bad business advice but appears toto work for me.
@taxgirl I live in a wetland area on the NJ bayshore. Years ago I decided it would be better to let most of the yard grow wild with dune grasses and bushes. The township issued me a citation. I never paid it. I feel this approach is better understood today, but the law is unchanged.
@kristenkeatsCPA@POBrien929 I have a friend whose father was a CPA in Philadelphia murdered by an irate client in the office. Yesterday, by coincidence, I criticized online comments saying that doctors face increased risks. The reality is that we all do.
@kristenkeatsCPA It sounds like you don’t include a timeline in your engagement agreement? I don’t do many tax returns but timeliness and accountability to this is a big part of why I am referred to begin with. I can usually charge about 50% more for work that can be delivered with 24-48 hours.
Well worth reading. It reaffirms my own investment strategy in essential hard asset resources. Yet my lifelong pattern has been in positioning myself too far ahead of the curve.

@GalenMicheal I’m dating myself: Once a year local police did a street crossing safety demonstration in the school auditorium. This was long before the war on drugs. Guns were only for hunting pheasants. Remember them?
@LoganGrafTax I never even considered that it was an issue subject to contention. I handle ACH tax payments just like any other transaction under my responsibility. I get that not every accountant handles banking transactions for clients. That’s understandable.
@PotCpa New Jersey’s few heavily capitalized all white legal cannabis sellers are doing a booming business. Meanwhile 100% of the minority owned cannabis businesses making up more than 3/4 of the state’s economy in this product remain illegal.
“No one can escape the bureaucracy of the New Jersey state government, not even the nascent New Jersey cannabis industry.” - Mike Davis in Asbury Park Press yesterday.
None of these were cannabis businesses, but the same fear prevails here. I notice that younger business people do not have this fear. They display an energy that ranges between naivety to inspiring.
Yesterday’s NYT carried a story about scarcity of pot in NY and NJ. To clarify, that’s a scarcity of LICENSED pot. It is a licensing shortage, not a product or grower shortage.
