Last year, PCS inadvertently ordered 40 cases or gloves when we needed 40 boxes. We are grateful that we are able to assist our good neighbor, Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Potsdam Central School received a community grant through Wal-Mart to help get new bikes for the Lawrence Ave P.E. Dept. bike safety unit. Recently we were able to go to the Potsdam Wal-Mart and select 7 new bicycles for our Bike Safety Unit.
Congratulations to this year's inductees into the French National Honor Society. The guest speaker at the induction ceremony was high school Social Studies teacher, Phil Foisy, who discussed his French roots and his passion to be a constant learner of the French language.
Assemblyman Mark Walcyzk recently visited with students and staff in the Potsdam Central School District. He met with AP Government students before visiting the elementary and middle schools.

What a great visit to the SUNY Potsdam Gibson Gallery! One of the BFA art majors met us there and talked about her work and that of the other artists. We had fun touring the art studios, meeting faculty and looking at some of the permanent collection!
A. A. Kingston students are participating in the swim club as part of the middle school's intramural program. Students are being taught safety rules, the importance of stretching before swimming, and swim lessons.

A 4th grade student, Summer Payne, wanted to raise money for the Potsdam Animal Shelter. With the help of her teachers, she organized a school wide popcorn fundraiser last week. Today, the class presented a check for over $400.
Today was an exciting day at Lawrence Avenue Elementary School. After over a year of fundraising, our playground pavilion arrived today. Construction will begin immediately and will be complete long before those hot days! We are so grateful for our generous community!
