@saintlouismayor, this is a picture of the 4000 block of Oleatha. When your volunteer knocked on my door to canvass yesterday, i mentioned two things: plowing and trash. These seem like basic functions of government, the most simple of civic handshakes… please do better.

For as aggravated as I was, the three people involved in the accident were less than surprised at the inattentiveness of our police department.

We simply have to do better.

When I, the witness, left the scene, it had been more than an hour since my first call to 911. The second time I called, after 45min, I was informed, verbatim, that since there were no injuries and there was no impediment to traffic, “you’re not a priority.”

I’m not going to sit here and argue that there aren’t other calls that take priority. I can understand that, but having citizens standing on the side of one of the busiest thoroughfares in the city is a danger too, and any police response that takes over an hour is egregious.

@saintlouismayor, today I witnessed a serious accident involving three vehicles at Arsenal and Alfred. Luckily there were no injuries and we were able to safely secure the cars so they weren’t impeding traffic.
