@Sflecce Before/ after school, as well as lunch hour the masks come off, and all teens are mingling.

Unless we all have an opportunity to get our boosters before returning & rapid testing is done on site you need a better plan.

4/We talked about sad as it was, how it was fitting to his overall vision/ meaning of the piece and how artists often repurpose art for a bigger purpose. I'm so proud of this student and his meaningful piece.

1/ In my art class students were sketching drafts for their clay identity masks. "What's this one?" I asked (pointing to a knight mask with a crack among his other drawings) "Sometimes life has to break you to make you stronger" he said.

3/He created this beautiful mask version with the monster hand grasping behind a warrior helmet.

Out of the many student masks fired in the kiln, this one shattered.

2/Whew.I wish a kid his age didn't have to know such a hard life experience yet. 💔He had been ill growing up. I knew his story well from teaching him a previous year. I asked him if he felt comfortable to 'go there' with his art. He did and wanted it to be a cathartic experience
