The Powder Toy is a free physics sandbox game, which simulates air pressure and velocity, heat, gravity and a countless number of different element interactions
@rljancias Yeah it's just the most similar to Twitter so I put it first in the list. If you want the most timely updates, Steam announcement is first technically, but right after I do a mass ping on Discord. Then I post on Bluesky last.
@macalacad68309 There's a pending Android rewrite, we hope to have it finished this year. With that, we'll give it all the options the PC port has! Until then, there's some instructions on the forum for a script "PC controls for Android" that can do some things.
A new minor version of TPT, 99.1, has been released! It fixes some bugs and leftover issues from 99.0, and also some old simulation oddities. Plus, the FPS cap now only applies to the main window, no more rapidly spinning spinners and janky scrolling when you turn off the FPS cap
STATEMENT FROM THE POWDER TOY:
In agreement with our service providers, TPT is in the process of restoring service. We thank Daddy Trump for providing the necessary assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TPT to over 170 Americans.
Happy New Year! In 2024, we added features we talked about and put off since 2014. Next year, my resolution is to do the things I've put off since 2015
A special Christmas Update* is now out! Just launch the game to the new 99.0 release. This version adds performance improvements in certain display modes and improves the search feature.
*This update doesn't actually have Christmas content but it does still have SNOW
A beta for 99.0 has been released! This version adds better search in the save browser, and boosts fps in Fire/Fancy displays by putting rendering into another thread. There's also now in-game credits, a new tools api for creating Lua tools, and various simulation / crash fixes
We've hit some great peaks thanks to all of you. Over 70k downloads, 431 max concurrent peak, and seen ("impressions") over 9 million times on Steam. That homepage bump really helped a lot!
@UKanery Not right now. Saves can be shared online like normal, and while Lua scripts could be shared I'd be a bit afraid to have unreviewed code shared so easily through the workshop.
Add new system for playing sounds when elements react. You'll be able to enjoy sounds during your favorite reactions, such as FIRE burning, bombs exploding, or squirrels mocking you
Zoom window now shows particle faces in more detail. Particles may now react to being set on fire
TPT 98.1 has been released! This update contains some new additions additions that will greatly enhance the experience, including sound! You may download the new version at https://t.co/H9yOpRGAxG . We hope the new cacophony of sounds is pleasing to your ears. Changelog: (1/2)
TPT 98.0 is now released across all platforms - PC, Android, and Web. A handful of bugs have been fixed since the beta. Download or play it at https://t.co/H9yOpRGAxG
