From our base in Whaley Bridge, High Peak, The Powderkegs appear at events near and far dancing the vibrant living tradition of Border Morris. Loud and lively!
Friends and followers, after a lot of discussion we've decided to cancel our dance out in Chester tomorrow. This decision has not been taken lightly and is based on changing information about the coronovirus and crowd gatherings (yes we were hoping for a large crowd!!!).
Come and join us in Chester on Saturday (14th March) where we will be entertaining the crowds throughout the day with our friends Clerical Error and Stone the Crows Border Morris. Look for us outside the Town Hall from 11am.
Tomorrow will be a Powderkeg double-bill! Dancing at Windgather rocks for dawn (5.15 am), then at the Shepherd's Arms in Whaley Bridge from 7.30pm! It's going to be a long day!!
This Saturday (27th) we'll be out dancing in delightful Chorley (hopefully in the sun?) from about 10.30 am with the ladies of Amounderness and many others. Just listen for the bells!
Our summer dance out season is... https://t.co/w196C81GNW
Spring is well and truly sprung, and it's time for our first daylight dance out of the year! This Saturday we'll be in Chester with @stcbordermorris and @ClericsMorris Are you ready?!?!?!?!
If you missed our beginners workshop last weekend then don't despair! You can still come along to one of our regular Wednesday practices - from 7.30 pm at the Whaley Bridge Uniting Church
We are recruiting now!!! Beginners session on Sunday 9th September from 1 pm. Get in touch if you’re interested! You could dance, you could play, you could take over as publicity officer to prevent any further corruption of classic literature :)
Will you be at a loose end on Wednesday at 8 pm ish? Want something to enliven an otherwise dull evening? We'll be dancing outside Buxton Opera House during the interval of the evening performance then in the Pavilion Gardens. What could possibly be better than that?!?!?
Wave your handkerchief and jingle your bells! Watch Powderkegs Border Morris dancers greeting the dawn and braving the cold to welcome the arrival of May Day high on Windgather Rocks cliffside near Whaley Bridge. Pictures from @fstoppress.
