Several Powell residents had their vehicles broken into overnight in the area of Powell Crossing. Anyone with information on the thefts or home surveillance that might have captured the suspect(s) and or vehicle, please contact Detective Darren Smith at 614-885-5005.
Powell PD was requested through mutual aid to assist the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office on a barricaded situation stemming from a domestic situation that occurred on Echo Place. The situation was brought to safe conclusion when the suspect surrendered to law enforcement.
The City of Powell Municipal Building (47 Hall St.) has two parking spaces dedicated as "safe spots" for anyone wishing to meet a stranger to exchange or sell an item. The spaces are under video surveillance 24/7, providing a safe place to make some post-holiday cash!
Governor Mike DeWine today signed Senate Bill 288, making holding or using a cell phone while driving a primary offense.

Weather permitting, ODOT crews will return November 1-4 to complete curb repairs on St. Rt. 750 between Liberty St. and the railroad tracks. The work will occur between the hours of 9am-3pm and street parking will be limited during those days.

ODOT paint crews will return on Sunday, October 23, from 9am-3pm to finish striping St. Rt. 750 from Sawmill Rd. to 315.
The trucks will pull to the side every 15 minutes to allow traffic through but expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

CSX will close the railroad crossing on Seldom Seen Rd (between Village Park Dr and Sheridan St) on Wed., Oct. 19, and Thurs., Oct. 20, for repairs.
As such, that stretch of Seldom Seen Road will be closed and traffic will be temporarily detoured to St. Rt. 750.
