An OEM's advantage lives in actuation, perception hardware, and the cost curve of building at scale. None of that is strengthened by writing a verification stack from scratch. The trust layer is the same problem for every manufacturer and a differentiator for none. 🧬 GLP-1 Series: Can GLP-1 Medications Protect Your Kidneys?

GLP-1 medications are known for helping people with type 2 diabetes manage blood sugar and lose weight. But research suggests they may also help protect the kidneys.

What do the trials show?
🔹 LEADER: Liraglutide reduced kidney complications, largely by reducing significant protein leakage into the urine.

🔹 SUSTAIN-6: Semaglutide reduced worsening kidney problems, with much of the benefit related to less protein in the urine.

🔹 REWIND: Dulaglutide also reduced a combined measure of kidney complications, largely through reduced protein leakage.

🔹 FLOW: This trial studied people with type 2 diabetes and existing chronic kidney disease (CKD). Semaglutide reduced the relative risk of major kidney complications or cardiovascular death by 24%.

Why does this matter?
Healthy kidneys filter waste from the blood. Diabetes and high blood pressure can damage them over time. Protein in the urine can be an early warning sign of kidney damage.

The FLOW trial went beyond measuring protein in the urine. It showed benefits on important outcomes such as worsening kidney function and kidney failure.

The takeaway: For people with type 2 diabetes and CKD, GLP-1 medications may offer benefits beyond blood sugar control. They can be part of a broader treatment plan that includes blood pressure management, kidney monitoring, and other protective medications when appropriate.

Protecting your kidneys starts with managing your risks early.
