The Government of Manipur, through @Powerdept_GoMn and @mspdcl_manipur, has taken prompt and decisive steps in response to a grievance shared on social media about a dangerous electric line being temporarily supported by a bamboo post in Sagolmang Khewa.

On April 17, 2025:
• A formal directive was issued for immediate investigation.
• Field inspections confirmed the bamboo support was a temporary measure to prevent power disruption and ensure public safety after recent thunderstorms damaged wooden poles.
• The area was already included in the RDSS-LR scheme for permanent infrastructure upgrades.

What’s Being Done:
• Installation of 22 new LT poles and 1.8 km of AB cable is currently underway.
• The work is being closely monitored by senior officials, with completion expected within a few days.
• The Deputy Commissioner also visited the site and verified the corrective measures.

This swift action reflects the Government’s strong commitment to public safety, transparency and infrastructure development. We appreciate the vigilance of the public and encourage continued cooperation in reporting such concerns.
