It's World's Aids Day and here's my little story- a thread.
#WorldAIDSDay2020
- I found out about my HIV status in April 2014 ( I was quite young and confused and had no one to tell).
- They conducted other tests and my CD4 cells was just "6 cells" left...
If I change HIV treatment and find that I don’t like my new meds, can I go back to the old ones?
It depends if you're switching because of drug resistance or your treatment isn't working, or because of side effects. https://t.co/9Wcfqlqgr9
South Africa has reached the first UN #HIV target: most people know their status. But too many people who know they have HIV still aren't on treatment.
Why?
Stigma remains one of the biggest barriers. Our first #AIDS2026 opinion piece explains why.

Last year, the Tackle HIV Challenging Stigma Garden was opened at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, celebrating the remarkable progress made in HIV treatment while highlighting the stigma that still affects people living with HIV today.

Take your HIV medication every day, even on the days when your body feels light and the storm seems far away. Each dose strengthens the life you're building, guards the peace you've fought for, and keeps your light shining bright.

Today is HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, a day to recognize the volunteers, community members, and researchers working to find a safe and effective vaccine to prevent HIV. Such a vaccine, along w/ existing HIV treatment and prevention strategies, would help to #EndHIVEpidemic. #HVAD
HIV stigma can negatively impact people on an extremely personal level 🙏
@gareththomas14 lives his life proudly and openly, and wants to empower others to do the same while showing everyone that HIV does not need to hold you back.

Two years ago, Prince Harry publicly took an HIV test at a sexual health clinic to show it’s nothing to be afraid of and to help normalise testing 👊
This HIV Testing Week, let’s all follow in his footsteps and get tested to check our status!

I would love to learn motion design and video editing. Please can anyone assist me in learning these skills? It's one of those things I'm passionate about ☹️🙏🏼
To stamp out HIV stigma, we contact journalists to correct misleading/inaccurate reports on HIV.
You'd be surprised how many times we've had to say HIV cannot be transmitted through spitting...

PrEP, the game-changing #HIV prevention drug, is still not reaching everybody who might benefit from it. Not enough women, Black African and Asian people are accessing it.
PrEP has to be available beyond sexual health services to increase access to everyone who needs it.
If you’re sexually active, you and your partners should get tested for #STDs, even if you don’t have symptoms.

@0x Good evening Ezra, can you please assist me in enrolling in graphic design school? I want to expand my knowledge in graphics. I have a laptop and would love to get busy with something I love so much
32 years old. Got tested at 24.
8 years living with HIV.
My CD4 count was only 6 before I started my medication. Now I'm healthy, undetectable and thriving.
