Sa mga bagong diagnosed positive sa hiv, tuloy parin po tayong mabuhay. Mahirap tanggapin. Kaya lang andyan na e. Piliin nalang po natin maging mas maingat sa sarili at sa iba. Mag work out. Kumain ng masustansyang pagkain, iwas processed foods.
On Sharing our Negative HIV Results
Some HIV advocates discourage posting HIV-negative results because it can fuel stigma against PLHIV. It can create an "us vs. them" mindset, making HIV-positive people feel excluded or ashamed.
Seeing people post their HIV-negative results can feel isolating for PLHIV. It unintentionally sends the message that being negative is something to celebrate, while being positive is something to hide or be ashamed of. Even if that’s not the intention, it reinforces stigma and makes it harder for PLHIV to be open about their status.
Imagine being newly diagnosed and scrolling through posts of people proudly sharing their negative results—it can make you feel like you’re on the outside, like you’ve somehow failed, even though HIV is just a manageable condition like any other.
At the end of the day, if the PLHIV community is communicating to us that something harms them, isn’t it just basic decency to listen? If making a small adjustment—like not publicly posting negative results—helps create a more inclusive, stigma-free world, why not do it? Instead of focusing on status, we can promote regular testing, PrEP, and safe sex without alienating anyone.
