I know it's hard for evangelists to understand since he's not kissing the flag of israel but honoring the memory of saints and martyrs who died for their faith is in fact a Christian value.
Probably my favorite Balkan LARP of all time is when some Russian Archeologist discovered Iranian linguistic inscriptions on old Greek tables that sound very similar to "Hrvat" (Croat), and some Croatian Intellectuals immediately started saying that Croats were Slavicized Iranians and that they were "Iranian-Gothic"
