@johnvoorhees Sorry you’ve been taking flack. Just keep being who you are and doing what you do, and let the other folks sort themselves out. I appreciate the MacStories voice online.
@viticci Sorry you’re taking flack for this. A lot of the ai stuff on MacStories just doesn’t apply to my life or needs, but I enjoy reading about what you’re doing. Thank you for your voice, wherever you choose to share it!
@flemingrut I wish I had knowledge to share, but I will lift you up in my intercessions. Your writing has been a profound blessing to me, and so it is an act of gratitude to pray for you. May the Spirit of the risen Christ provide strength and courage to you.
@lymanstoneky I have found that doing funerals and end-of-life ministry well earns you tremendous trust. Being able to read books, and financial statements, earns you credibility with lay leaders.
@lymanstoneky Preach. Teach. Visit. Counsel. Build healthy relationships in the congregation and community. Preside at the sacraments with a real liturgy (preferably in a manner that newcomers can follow). Support the lay leaders in their roles. Supervise staff.
@drantbradley I’m so sorry. May the Lord grant you peace and strength. Your writing has been an encouragement and challenge to me, and I appreciate you continuing to “put yourself out there” knowing what might come. Thank you!
@drpandel@flemingrut All right! I’m a transplant (grew up in MA, undergrad in CT, seminary in MN, an internship in NY, first call in MD, but now over 15 years in Milford and so thankful for it!
I started reading an article on fertility rates in The Economist, and thought, “I wonder what @lymanstoneky would think?” Lo and behold, a few paragraphs in, he was cited!
@Edelman11 Thank you, Jules. Huge fan. As a Lutheran pastor, I have historical context for how easily things can go horribly wrong when violence against Jews is tolerated. Peace and safety to Jewish communities everywhere.
