Kanha ji, my father was an accomplished singer won hoardes of prizes in College and University competitions and later sang in AIR Patna as an A Class artiste.
He had four favourites, Ustad Amir Khan, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Kumar Gandharv and Pandit Jasraj whose programs he would not miss on the “National Program” of music on AIR and later when cassettes came these were his listening companions.

He fondly listened to other stalwarts like Ravi Shankar, Panna Lal Ghosh, Amjad Ali Khan, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, M Rajam, Bismillah Khan, Hari Prasad Chaurasiya, Vilayat Khan to name just a few.
Film Music was a no no for him till much later. We were permitted to buy Mehndi Hassan, Jagjit-Chitra Singh, Ghulam Ali etc.
Here is a fine rendition by Ustad Amir Khan, “Jinke Man Ram Biraje”, the extreme devotion and passionate tone cannot be missed. Those were the times. Father sang this on his Harmonium and I used to be on the tabla with him.
I heard this on You Tube which opened with this in the morning as if in fond memory of my father 💚
If you are spiritual you will know we both would be thinking of each other at that time as I pursue his remaining tasks at Patna, Chapra and Dumersan. He in his heavenly perch and me down here.

The affidavit that the ECI has filed before the Supreme Court raises more questions than it answers about its functioning during the ongoing SIR. The objections recorded by the two ECs were part of the consultative process, it says — this papers over the fact that most of them were about decisions taken without keeping the two informed. The ECI rolls back controversial changes made to Form 6 for first-time voters online, and sets up a committee to review ECINet. It does so, however, without acknowledging the mistake, or holding anyone accountable. The SIR process continues to stumble. The Court must now nudge it towards a course correction.

Key gaps remain on opaque decision-making, software blocks reversing deletions (e.g. Goa), and commissioners being kept in the dark on critical matters (e.g. West Bengal).
Trust in elections depends on transparency and real internal checks — not a one-man show. The country is paying attention as indeed as you are.

Strange logic, Dr Saheb. The ECI will not come out with clear replies to pointed questions and show its notings and documentatioin to dispel all doubts of foul play. What role does Express have in this. It has already gone public with all that it has. Dr Saheb show some mercy or alternatively how stupid do you think we are ?
