Contractor WhatsApp group becomes ‘formal’ cooperative

BREAKING: Economic review reveals half of pharmacies ‘not profitable’
https://t.co/xtucQe8Uaw
The long-awaited economic review of community #pharmacy has revealed that around half of pharmacies did not turn a profit last year
NO DEAL WITH FALSE HOPES: TIME TO STAND UP!
@IPCNetwork is standing firm: @ComPharmEngland negotiation committee must not agree to any deal based on empty promises that things will improve next year. Next year’s deal will be a three-year contract, we cannot afford another bad deal.
🔹 Any agreement must be directly linked to yearly inflation and NLW increases, no more funding cuts disguised as "support."
🔹 No CPE Representative should be pressured into accepting a deal that simply kicks the can down the road. The false hope of "a better deal next year" is a trap we refuse to fall into again.
🔹 Community pharmacy has been bullied for 15 years, this ends now.
IPCN will continue fighting until CPE listens. We call on all CPE Representatives: Do NOT sign a deal that sells out our future. Community pharmacy must stand united.

@IPCNetwork members are emailing their @ComPharmEngland Reps. Reps are there, as elected individuals to represent us, the way we wish to be represented. Let us be clear, if any Rep decides to ignore their constitutents, just remember, CPE elections are coming. #NoSeatisSafe
Independent contractors are coordinating and mobilising, in a way like never before. When you have everything to lose it can bring people together to create strength. If @ComPharmEngland fail, there will be an uproar like never before. Time to listen to those you represent!
2- ANY DEAL must be ratified by contractors unless contract is imposed by @DHSCgovuk
Independents own majority of pharmacies, yet CPE’s structure doesn’t reflect this. @ComPharmEngland must uphold democratic principles and failure will force us to act.
@IPCNetwork & other independent pharmacy owners, representing 50% of England’s pharmacy network will seek legal advice on a no-confidence vote in @ComPharmEngland unless it commits to:
1- NO DEAL until Economic Review is Published! https://t.co/9EktJslpcm
For those waiting for the white smoke to be released from DHSC/Treasury around our pharmacy contract negotiations. Remember a £210m “uplift” will only bring us back to 2015/16 levels!!!
Real increases are needed. ~£450m is needed just to accommodate NLW 24/25 & 25/26 plus NIC
Look at the gap between our sector budget and other relevant markers (inflation, NHS budget, minimum wage). The gap in our finances are causing weekly pharmacy closures. We desperately need the “independent economic review” to validate this funding chasm.
If Economic Review is not released by @NHSEngland & @DHSCgovuk I believe it is in best interest of Community Pharmacy for @ComPharmEngland to refuse to engage with negotiations. Also @NPA1921 + @IPAPharmacy + Indie Reps on CPE, should not ratify any deal without seeing the report
With more and more pharmacies having to close their doors, these stories will become "regular". Current funding doesn't cover the operational costs & clearly, reduction of supplenentary hours is having an impact on patient safety. Extremely saddening incident due to inadequate £
Nearly 9 months into the financial year & all contractors are still waiting to hear from @ComPharmEngland@DHSCgovuk regarding our contract, wait is leading to significant financial pressure on all of us, working at 2016 rates is not sustainable! @AbuFeizah@IPCNetwork
100%.
@NPA1921 have achieved something and should be applauded.
Pharmacy bodies have tried squaring the circle for years, and finally we are getting somewhere.
Very disappointed with @IPAPharmacy
I use six different suppliers to buy medicines. There hasn't been a day in the last few months we're every one of them has made a full delivery! Boxes or whole deliveries just don't arrive. Does anyone monitor this? @ComPharmEngland@MHRAgovuk@AbuFeizah@dervisgurol@IPCNetwork
