The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), which claims to represent more than 90% of the banking workforce, has announced a series of strikes over unresolved issues related to the five-day banking week and the government's revised Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) calls for bank strikes on September 11, followed by a three-day strike from September 28 to 30, and an indefinite strike beginning October 26, 2026.

The bank strikes have been called for the implementation of the five-day banking week, as agreed in the Settlement/Joint Note signed on March 8, 2024, the withdrawal of the government's Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, the modification of the incentive scheme through bilateral talks, and the resolution of pending residual issues

We seek justice, not another committee, clarification or extension. Because bankers work for the bank every day. Their rights should not work only on government files.

देशव्यापी बैंक हड़ताल से सितंबर में लोगों की मुश्किलें बढ़ सकती हैं. बैंक यूनियनों ने 5-दिन बैंकिंग, PLI में समानता, पेंशन अपडेट और NPS से OPS में जाने का विकल्प जैसी मांगें उठाई हैं. मांगें नहीं मानी गईं तो आगे भी लंबी हड़ताल का खतरा बना रहेगा.

करीब 8 लाख बैंक कर्मचारी 5 डे वर्किंग समेत कई मांगों को लेकर हड़ताल पर जा सकते हैं.

रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, ये हड़ताल चरणबद्ध तरीके से होगी. बैंक कर्मचारी 11 सितंबर को देशभर में हड़ताल करेंगे.

कर्मचारियों की मांग है कि सभी शनिवार को छुट्टी मिले, लेकिन सरकार ने अभी तक इस पर कोई फैसला नहीं लिया है.
